Stats prove Bukayo Saka has been the best player in Europe in 2024
Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt are all represented in the top 10 best performing players in Europe’s top five leagues in 2024.
10. Raphinha (Barcelona) – 7.50
Raphinha has enjoyed quite the turnaround in fortunes with the Brazilian now one of Barcelona’s key players. Many had expected the former Leeds man to depart over the summer as Barcelona sought to sign Nico Williams, yet their failure to land the Euro 2024 winners has proven a blessing. Raphinha is now one of the first names on the Barcelona teamsheet and for good reason.
9. Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid) – 7.51
Coming in at ninth, Vinicius Junior may have been the favourite to land the Ballon d’Or at one point, only to miss out on the individual accolade to Rodri, but the Brazil international still enjoyed a wonderful 2024. Indeed, the Real Madrid forward has earned a WhoScored rating of 7.51 this calendar year.
8. Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid) – 7.52
Another who was a genuine contender for the Ballon d’Or at one point, Jude Bellingham endured a slow start to the 2024/25 La Liga season, but has since returned to his best to help Los Blancos in their title push. The England international was key in Real Madrid’s title success earlier in the year, and that means he has a WhoScored rating of 7.52 in 2024.
7. Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen) – 7.53
A driving force in Bayer Leverkusen’s first ever Bundesliga title triumph, it’s no surprise that Florian Wirtz makes the top 10 best rated players of 2024. Wirtz, who continues to shine for the German giants, has earned a WhoScored rating of 7.53 this calendar year.
6. Omar Marmoush (Eintracht Frankfurt) – 7.67
One of the surprise packages in Europe this season, Omar Marmoush has been attracting interest from the likes of Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Barcelona ahead of the January window and it shouldn’t come as a surprise. The 25-year-old has scored 13 times and provided seven assists in the Bundesliga this season, and that rich vein of form means the Egypt international boasts a WhoScored rating of 7.67 in 2024.
5. Lamine Yamal (Barcelona) – 7.70
The second Barcelona player to make the cut, 2024 has been the year that Lamine Yamal has really taken the world by storm. Hugely influential in Spain’s Euro 2024 success and a vital cog in this Barcelona machine, it’s reflected in Yamal’s fine WhoScored rating of 7.70 this year.
4. Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) – 7.74
Harry Kane has taken to the Bundesliga like a duck to water. While he was unable to fire Bayern Munich to domestic or continental glory in his debut season in Germany, Kane has once again shone, evident in his excellent WhoScored rating of 7.74 in 2024.
3. Cole Palmer (Chelsea) – 7.78
Cole Palmer quickly established himself as Chelsea’s key man following his surprise arrival from Manchester City last summer, and he continues to from strength-to-strength for the Blues. Some may have been concerned Palmer would be a one-season wonder but he’s improving with each passing week as a WhoScored rating of 7.78 for 2024 shows.
2. Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich) – 7.81
The second Bayern Munich player in this rundown, Jamal Musiala is the real jewel in the FC Hollywood crown. At just 21 years of age, the world is at Musiala’s feet and he’s clearly grabbing his chance to establish himself as one of the best in the game with both hands.
1. Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) – 7.88
Sitting at the top as the best rated player in Europe’s top five leagues in 2024 is Arsenal star Bukayo Saka, who has earned a WhoScored rating of 7.88 this year. While Saka doesn’t have the same goal output as others on this list, the Gunners sensation is arguably the most consistent performer and deservedly sits top.
