Stars from Chelsea and Man Utd make 'Premier League' Euros Best XI
Euro 2024 is littered with Premier League stars. Here, we run through the best rated Premier League XI with players from Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Brighton, Newcastle, Manchester City and West Ham all shining for their respective nations.
Bart Verbruggen (Netherlands) - 7.04
Having ended the season as first choice at Brighton, Bart Verbruggen's good form for club saw him instilled as first choice for country at Euro 2024 and he hasn't disappointed. While he conceded three times against Austria in the week, the 21-year-old ranked third for saves in the group stages (12) to feature.
Vladimir Coufal (Czechia) - 6.96
While he was unable to help Czechia to the next round, Vladimir Coufal was solid at right wing-back for his nation. The Hammers man registered one assist from his nine key passes, and managed five tackles and two interceptions, to contribute to a WhoScored rating of 6.96.
Fabian Schar (Switzerland) - 6.95
Switzerland conceded just three goals in their three Euro 2024 group stage outings with the experienced Fabian Schar key at the back. The 32-year-old made 12 clearances and won seven aerial duels as he was again solid.
Partnering Schar is Portugal's Ruben Dias, who earned a WhoScored rating of 7.01 across his two outings. The 27-year-old was, as is to be expected, a distribution machine, finding a teammate with 93.1% of his 188 attempted passes.
While Marc Cucurella struggled in the opening months of his Chelsea career, the Spaniard saw out the season strongly and is first choice left-back for Spain at Euro 2024. The 25-year-old made seven tackles and four interceptions in his two group stage outings to land a WhoScored rating of 7.68.
Kevin De Bruyne (Belgium) - 7.60
Kevin De Bruyne got his Euros campaign up and running in the 2-0 win over Romania and while he is yet to provide an assist at the tournament, it's not for want of trying have made the second most key passes (11) in the group stages. Five tackles and five successful dribbles helped return a WhoScored rating of 7.60.
Christian Eriksen (Denmark) - 7.26
The one player to have made more key passes than De Bruyne in the group stages, Christian Eriksen created 13 chances as Denmark progressed to the last-16. Eriksen also scored the Danish Dynamite's goal in their 1-1 draw with Slovenia 1100 days after he suffered a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020.
Bruno Fernandes (Portugal) - 7.37
Rounding off the midfield is Eriksen's club teammate Bruno Fernandes. The 29-year-old struck in Portugal's 3-0 win over Turkiye at the weekend, scoring with one of six shots overall at Euro 2024, and has worked hard off the ball, making four tackles, to land a WhoScored rating of 7.37.
Bernardo Silva (Portugal) - 7.46
Crossing the Manchester divide once more, Bernardo Silva scored once in his two group stage showings. Like Fernandes, that goal came against Turkiye as the 29-year-old netted with one of four shots. Silva was unfortunate not to register an assist, too, having made six key passes to feature on the frontline.
Leading the charge in this XI is Germany forward Kai Havertz, who returned a WhoScored rating of 7.12 in the group stages. While some have called for Havertz to be dropped, the Arsenal man still scored one and assisted another to feature.
Cody Gakpo (Netherlands) - 7.80
One of only six players to have scored multiple goals at Euro 2024 so far, Cody Gakpo completes the XI with a WhoScored rating of 7.80. Gakpo's two goals came from seven shots, while the 25-year-old has also created eight goalscoring opportunities so far.
