Newcastle United vs Manchester City - Match Preview

Without question the biggest game left this season at the top of the table, it will doubtlessly prove to be decisive in either the race for the Champions League or the battle for the Premier League title.

City’s away games have been characterised by defensive solidity since Christmas, looking to win games narrowly. This has led to only one game in their ten Premier League away games since then going over 2.5 goals.

Newcastle will be fearful of City’s attacking might, and will look to tuck Demba Ba away on the left of a five-man midfield when they don’t have the ball. They have used a variation of this (the 4-5-1, 4-4-1-1 and 4-3-3) in increasing amounts since January, with the arrival of the freescoring Papiss Cissé to take some of the pressure off of his compatriot.

Everything points towards a tight game, and we’ll be backing the unders at 2.08.

Siena vs Parma - Match Preview

At this point of the season, what there is left to play for frequently points towards the results we can expect.

While Siena will be happy to have secured a comfortable mid-table position, Parma’s spectacular late run of form has seen them come into the Europa League picture, with sixth place now sufficient due to Napoli and Juventus reaching the Coppa Italia final.

Their run of five consecutive wins means that they are second in the Serie A form table, and thus, it’s a surprise to see a Parma win priced as high as 3.10.

Parma also have a traditionally good record against their Tuscan opponents, going undefeated in 12 of their last 13 matches in all competitions, with nothing to play for, expect Siena to be overcome by the Crociati, and the value is certainly there. Away win.

Sporting Gijón vs Real Betis - Match Preview

These two sides are both in decent form approaching the end of the season, which will mean little to Real Betis, but for Sporting, it has come too late.

Two of the worst defences in the league, Sporting have lost more games than anyone else this season, which explains their lowly position.

Betis are back in the top flight and will be pleased with the way they’ve solidified their presence in the league. In Ruben Castro and Roque Santa Cruz they have strikers good enough to convert the few chances they create, and in midfield maestro Beñat – who won them the Seville derby with a cheeky free kick at the death last time out – they have the best player that these two teams have to offer, according to WhoScored ratings.

Weak defences and good strike forces usually lead to goals, which is why in this game we will focus on Betis and their front pair. With the possibility of Sporting getting quickly demoralised by conceding, we will be backing Betis to score over 1.5 goals in the team total goals market at 2.5, and with the threat they’ve posed in recent games it seems to represent some decent value.
