Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo continued a fine individual campaign so far when he both scored and assisted in the Bees’ 4-2 victory over Newcastle on Saturday afternoon. Mbeumo put the hosts ahead inside eight minutes, before turning provider for Kevin Schade in the final minute of regular time. In all, he managed three key passes, three shots, two successful dribbles, two tackles and four ball recoveries, for a WhoScored rating of 8.59.
With a WhoScored rating of 9.16, Chelsea star Cole Palmer is our Premier League Player of the Week following his brace of penalties in the Blues’ comeback victory over rivals Tottenham on Sunday evening. Will Hughes (Crystal Palace) - 7.98
Having provided just two assists across the last two Premier League seasons, Crystal Palace midfielder Will Hughes set up both of the Eagles’ goals in Saturday’s entertaining draw with Manchester City at Selhurst Park. The 29-year-old also managed three key passes, three tackles and eight ball recoveries, to return a WhoScored rating of 7.98.
Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest) - 8.06
The second Nottingham Forest player to make our Team of the Week following Saturday’s victory at Old Trafford is attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, who both scored and assisted in the triumph. Inside the first seven minutes of the second half, the 24-year-old found the net to re-establish the visitors’ lead, before setting up team-mate Chris Wood for Forest’s third of the night.

Despite another disappointing result for Manchester City, Matheus Nunes earns a spot in our Team of the Week after providing his fourth assist of the season in all competitions. Jamie Vardy (Leicester) - 7.94
Despite trailing by two goals as late as the 86th minute, Leicester battled to secure a point at home to Brighton on Sunday afternoon, maintaining an unbeaten start to Ruud van Nistelrooy’s reign as boss. As we have come to expect, 37-year-old Foxes captain Jamie Vardy was involved in the late drama at the King Power Stadium, finding the net for the hosts’ first goal before unselfishly teeing up Bobby Decordova-Reid for a 91st-minute equaliser.
