- Ross County boss Don Cowie made two changes after the Staggies' impressive 2-1 victory on the road against Aberdeen at Pittodrie, before another excellent away day as they won 1-0 at Kilmarnock to kick off 2025 in emphatic fashion.
- Jordan Amissah remained in goal behind Kacper Lopata and Akil Wright in the back three alongside Connor Randall, covering the injured Ryan Leak. Michee Efete also made way through injury, as James Brown started at right wing-back.
- Weekend matchwinner George Harmon came into the team at left wing-back, as Josh Nisbet, Nohan Kenneh, the incoming Jack Grieves and Noah Chilvers started in midfield. Jordan White lead the line as the Staggies' sole striker.
- Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers had initially named an unchanged Celts side after they beat St Mirren 3-0 at Parkhead, before their 2-0 victory over Dundee United in their midweek match on Wednesday night.
- Kasper Schmeichel carried on in goal behind Greg Taylor, Auston Trusty, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston. Arne Engels and Luke McCowan once again joined club captain Callum McGregor in midfield to take on the Terrors.
- However, Nicolas Kühn was meant to join Daizen Maeda in support of lone striker Adam Idah up front. But the German dropped onto the bench at the last minute, with Yang Hyun-Jun chosen instead.
