Team News

Liverpool
Brentford
  • Liverpool are still without Calvin Ramsey, Stefan Bajcetic, Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino for the arrival of Brentford.
  • Thiago has undergone hip surgery and is ruled out for the rest of the season.
  • Jurgen Klopp should revert to the side that beat Tottenham, after some rotation against Fulham.
  • Brentford remain without Thomas Strakosha, Christian Norgaard, Pontus Jansson and Keane Lewis-Potter for Saturday's trip to Liverpool.
  • Kristoffer Ajer continues to miss out but will be assessed and could feature on the bench.

Prediction

  • Red hot Liverpool welcome a resurgent Brentford side to Anfield, with both in winning ways as of late.
  • For Liverpool, this will be their third consecutive home game, having won the previous two against Tottenham and Fulham respectively. Another West London opponent beckons for them, as they push until the end for an unlikely Champions League spot. They are without Thiago among their other four known absentees, with the Spanish midfielder out for the rest of the season after undergoing hip surgery.
  • Brentford ended a bad run of six games without a win with two wins in a row against two out of form sides in Chelsea and Nottingham Forest. A third win in a row is unlikely ahead of their trip to Anfield, but Thomas Frank's will fancy their chances, having already beat the Reds back in January. Ivan Toney scored his 20th goal of the season against Forest with his sixth penalty of the campaign and will look to add to that at Anfield.
