Team News

Tottenham
Brentford
  • Ryan Mason is without injured trio Rodrigo Bentancur, Hugo Lloris and Ryan Sessegnon.
  • Eric Dier and Japhet Tanganga will both be assessed, though neither may start here regardless.
  • Mason could make a couple of personnel changes, with Dejan Kulusevski and Yves Bissouma both potentially starting in place of Richarlison and Oliver Skipp.
  • Brentford have been rocked by the suspension of Ivan Toney, who has been banned for eight months effective immediately for breaching FA betting rules.
  • The Bees have no fresh injury concerns for Saturday's trip to north London, with Keane Lewis-Potter, Pontus Jansson, Christian Norgaard and Thomas Strakosha ruled out.
  • Thomas Frank should go with the same XI that started last week's win over West Ham.

Prediction

  • Tottenham are stuttering towards the finish line having won only one of their last six league matches. Spurs do at least have a solid home record to call upon, having won six of their last eight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but this has been a disappointing campaign given pre-season optimism.
  • A 2-0 win over West Ham means Brentford have won three of their last four league matches. However, the absence of Ivan Toney is a blow, even if the Bees got the better of the Hammers without their top-scorer.
  • Spurs do have a decent record against Brentford following their promotion, winning two and drawing two of four meetings between the pair, and the home side may secure all the spoils in their final home game of 2022/23.
