Team News

Man City
Brentford
  • Gabriel Jesus is out again after returning from international duty with a couple of minor injuries, while Cole Palmer is still unavailable.
  • Pep Guardiola should make a couple of personnel changes from the XI that started the 4-1 FA Cup win over Fulham.
  • Rodri, Ederson, Aymeric Laporte and Ruben Dias all played no part in the victory and should return to the side, while Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva are set to feature from the outset.
  • David Raya should keep his spot between the sticks despite conceding four at Everton on Saturday.
  • Christian Eriksen trained with Brentford for the first time this week but won't be considered here after seven months out.
  • Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa have recently spent time on the sidelines due to COVID-19, but may return for the Bees here.
  • Tariqe Fosu-Henry, Julian Jeanvier and Zanka all miss out.

Prediction

  • Manchester City got back to winning ways following their 1-1 draw with Southampton prior to the international break by thumping Fulham 4-1 to book an FA Cup fifth round spot. City haven't failed to win a home game since their 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace at the end of the October and are on a nine-game winning run at the Etihad.
  • By contrast, Brentford are in dire straits with a 4-1 loss at Everton on Saturday compounding them to their fifth successive defeat. The Bees have won just two of their last 10, losing eight of those, to the trip to City is hardly ideal.
  • This should be a relatively straight forward 90 minutes for City in midweek.
