Team News

Brentford
Man City
  • Rico Henry and Bryan Mbeumo are major doubts to face Manchester City due to injury, while Christian Norgaard is suspended for one match.
  • With Vitaly Janelt out with COVID, Frank Onyeka and Saman Ghoddos are pushing for starts in midfield for Brentford, while Yoane Wissa is an option up front.
  • John Stones, Kyle Walker and Rodri all missed Manchester City's 6-3 win over Leicester on Boxing Day and remain doubts here.
  • There was still no start for either Jack Grealish or Phil Foden after recently being reprimanded by Pep Guardiola for their off-field antics.
  • Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias would miss out against Arsenal if they are booked here so Guardiola may not take a risk.

Prediction

  • Brentford were unfortunate to lose 2-0 to Brighton Boxing Day but they return to home soil where they have won back-to-back games.
  • Manchester City beat Leicester 6-3 on Boxing Day. They were 4-0 up against Leicester in 25 minutes only to be pegged back to 4-3 at one point.
  • City are on a five-game winning streak away from home in the Premier League but have conceded in four of their last six.

  • This result may end up worse than City's previous destruction of opposition. They were exposed a bit by Leicester who were and have been dangerous on the counter all season. Brentford will be missing their best or most important players with Mbuemo and Norgaard out, Janelt has been solid defensively and will also be missed. Pep may be forced into some rotation it would be nice to see Palmer in and Nathan Ake could slide in as well, Pep doesn't need to start all of his first team guys here but I'm sure he still will. Jesus to score its been to long.
