Team News

Tottenham
Sheff Utd
  • Tottenham boss Ryan Mason has no further injury concerns on his hands ahead of Sunday's welcome of Sheffield United.
  • Ben Davies is his only confirmed absentee, but Matt Doherty could be in line for a potential return.
  • Harry Winks was a surprise starter in the Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City, with Tanguy Ndombele in line to return to the side, while Gareth Bale may replace Lucas Moura in the XI.
  • Joe Rodon will be hoping for a return, but Mason could elect to continue with Eric Dier alongside Toby Alderweireld.
  • Paul Heckingbottom must make do without four players for the trip to Tottenham with Jack O'Connell, Billy Sharp, Oliver McBurnie and Chris Basham all sidelined.
  • Jack Robinson and Sander Berge are closing in on a return to fitness, though the latter is the more likely of the pair to feature.
  • After their 1-0 win over Brighton, Heckingbottom may name an unchanged XI.

Prediction

  • Ryan Mason oversaw a 2-1 win over Southampton on his managerial debut, but fell to a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in last weekend's Carabao Cup final. With the focus now on securing a top-four finish, Tottenham need to beat Sheffield United on Sunday.
  • The Blades earned a first league win since early March when they beat Brighton last weekend, ending a five-game losing streak in the process. The relegated Yorkshire side are on a six-game losing run on the road, with their only away league win of the season, surprisingly, coming at Old Trafford.
  • With more at stake, expect Spurs to bounce back from their cup final heartbreak here.

  • It seems pretty clear that José did not make enough use of Gareth Bale.

  • Gareth bale gets his hat trick.

  • @nexus747 His third for Tottenham. The other two were against Villa and Inter Milan away from home. Therefore, Bale's first hat trick at home and... there is no home crowd to cheer it.

  • 0-0 at first half

  • Now that Sheffield United are relegated they are likely to play with less fear. Nevertheless, Tottenham are at home and Kane will want that golden boot. Son might also get some chances on the break. Hopefully Bale will feature. Tottenham 1-0 Sheffield United

  • Tottenham interim manager Ryan Mason confirmed Harry Kane is FIT to face Sheffield United, having felt no ill effects from his comeback last weekend.Ben Davies remains Tottenham's only injured player.

  • @nexus747 Thank you :)

  • Bale, Kane, Son a Shot on Target each 2/1

  • Is Kane definitely fit?

  • @MEHJones I am waiting for the official line ups but all the EPL clubs twitter accounts are suspended due to a boycott.

  • 4-1

  • 1-0

  • Tottenham playing a team from Sheffield at home near the end of the season when the year ends in a one... interesting.

  • @MEHJones In your opinion as a spurs fan do you think they can win at least 2-0 ? Is Kane fit to play ?

  • @nexus747 Sorry, I only just noticed your comment. Before the match I wouldn't have been sure (I am still not now at half time). I probably would've asked you if you were betting and what the odds were. It partly comes down to Mason's tactics and how Tottenham play in the 2nd half. There have been several matches this season when they've played well in one half (usually the first) but not the other. Nevertheless, Kane will be desperate to score because he cares about the golden boot.
