Cuadrado’s agent hits out at transfer speculation

The agent of Chelsea midfielder Juan Cuadrado has knocked back rumours suggesting his client’s Stamford Bridge career could be over after just five months at the club.

Cuadrado, 27, has struggled to make any impact since joining the club for £23.3m in January and is reportedly being lined up by a number of Italian clubs this summer.

However, that is not the case according to the Colombia international’s agent Alessandro Lucci.

“Cuadrado is a Chelsea player, who Mourinho strongly wanted just over five months ago and the coach truly believes in him", he said.

“He has many admirers but I reiterate that Juan is a Chelsea player. I, as his agent and intermediary, will decide with Juan his future, nobody else will.”

The former Fiorentina winger only secured a WhoScored.com rating of 6.37 during his time in London last season, the lowest of any Chelsea player to have made more than five appearances. Additionally, only Eden Hazard averaged more unsuccessful dribbles per 90 minutes (2.6) of all Chelsea players to make more than 3 league appearances last term.
