Crystal Palace win race for £20m-rated Benrahma

Crystal Palace believe they have won the race for sought after Brentford winger Said Benrahma, claim The Sun.

Benrahma has been heavily linked with a Premier League move this summer after his impressive displays for Brentford last season.

After missing out on promotion to the Premier League, Brentford know it's only a matter of time before they are forced to cash in on Benrahma.

Having already sold Ollie Watkins to Aston Villa for an initial £28m, Brentford are now poised to bank a further £20m from Benrahma's departure.

With Villa out of the running and West Ham first looking to sell before they can buy, Palace have stolen a march in the race for Benrahma.

Palace have already landed one Championship star in Eberechi Eze this summer and are now looking to further bolster their offensive options with Benrahma.

The 25-year-old finished last season as the highest WhoScored rated player in the Champioship (7.51), with Eze third (7.36), after playing a direct hand in 25 goals in 43 appearances (excluding playoffs).

Moreover, Benrahma was one of only three players to reach double figures for WhoScored Man of the Match awards (10).
