Bayern Munich emerge as shock suitors for Tottenham flop
Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti is interested in making a shock move for former Tottenham midfielder Paulinho this summer, reports French outlet RMC.
Paulinho joined Tottenham from Corinthians in a £17m deal in 2013 but failed to have any impact at the club before being sold to Chinese Super League giants Guangzhou Evergrande where he reportedly pockets £90,000-a-week.
However, the 28-year-old has still managed to keep his place in the Brazil national team despite making the move to China and now Bayern are reportedly keen on bringing him back to Europe, with Ancelotti a fan of the versatility he can bring in midfield.
Bayern have reportedly already held talks with Paulinho’s agent regarding a summer move but it would still go down as a major shock should the Bundesliga giants formalise any interest with a formal bid.
Paulinho has enjoyed a fine start to the new Chinese Super League season after scoring two goals in the opening four matches. Not only that, but the Brazilian has completed more tackles than any other player (20) in the league this far.
