Team News

Man City
Southampton
  • Only Samir Nasri is injured for Manchester City at present, with Pellegrini unlikely to make many changes.
  • This looks likely to be the last game in a City shirt for Yaya Toure, while Frank Lampard will also bid farewell following a short term deal at the club and James Milner's future is unclear, with his contract expiring this summer.
  • Wilfried Bony will hope for a rare place in the side having scored from the bench last time out, while Vincent Kompany is also fit to start following injury.
  • Ronald Koeman has no fresh injury concerns after their 6-1 thumping of Aston Villa and will likely name an unchanged side.
  • Dusan Tadic may be back in contention but won't displace either Sadio Mané or Shane Long after their exploits last time out.
  • Paulo Gazzaniga is ahead of Kelvin Davis in the pecking order at the moment in the continued absence of Fraser Forster.

Prediction

  • Manchester City are ending the season in fine form but it's too little, too late. Nevertheless they will play with freedom knowing that their second placed standing is assured after Arsenal's draw in midweek.
  • Southampton are certain of a Europa League place in seventh unless Aston Villa win the FA Cup, so they will want to end with a win and if they could manage to do so there is still a chance that Koeman's side could finish as high as 5th.
  • If last weekend's matches were anything to go by there should be goals in this one but City are rightly favourites and should make their home advantage count.

  • Pellegrini should have left Lampard on until the end

  • It is tempting to bet on Southampton, but I just don't see them overcoming that kind of quality Manchaster City has. Hope this game is going to be entertaining

  • I'd like to see the real football team with the real manager of the season win. Man $ity 2 - 3 Saints. A goal each for Long, Pelle and Mane.

  • 1-0 Man City Aguero
