- Hibernian manager David Gray named an unchanged Hibs team that clinched an impressive 3-1 win against Aberdeen at Pittodrie, before they were victorious on derby day with a 2-1 victory over Hearts at Tynecastle on Boxing Day.
- Goalkeeper Jordan Smith kept his place between the sticks. Jack Iredale, Rocky Bushiri and Warren O'Hora continued in the Hibees' backline. Chris Cadden remained at right wing-back, as his brother Nicky was on the left flank.
- Club captain Joe Newell and Nectarios Traintis were chosen in midfield once again. Josh Campbell supported Martin Boyle and Elie Youan in the Hibs attack, with super sub Dwight Gayle netting the winner and he may be pushing to start here.
- Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes named three changes to the Killie team that settled for a share of the spoils with Motherwell at Fir Park in their 1-1 draw, before an emphatic 4-0 Boxing Day battering of Aberdeen in Ayrshire.
- Robby McCrorie came back in goal, replacing Kieran O'Hara. Corrie Ndaba, Joe Wright and Lewis Mayo continued in the Killie backline. Danny Armstrong was reinstated on the right hand side, as Fraser Murray continued on the left.
- Liam Polworth, David Watson and Brad Lyons were the trio chosen in midfield once more. Kyle Vassell, who opened the scoring against the Dons, was joined by Bobby Wales in attack as Bruce Anderson and Marley Watkins made way.
