- Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell named one enforced change to the Steelmen side that beat Hibernian 2-1 at Easter Road prior to the international break, before a sole goal defeat to Dundee at Fir Park last Saturday afternoon.
- Aston Oxborough continued in goal behind Liam Gordon, Kofi Balmer and Dan Casey, who replaced the injured Paul McGinn at the back. Stephen O'Donnell remained at right wing-back as Ewan Wilson kept his place on the left hand-side.
- Davor Zdravkovski and Andy Halliday started in the middle of the park with Lennon Miller a bit further forward. Zach Robinson was joined in attack by Apostolos Stamatelopoulos, who scored his first goal for the Well in Edinburgh against the Hibees.
- Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers named just one change to the Celtic side that blew a two goal lead to draw 2-2 with Aberdeen in Glasgow, before they shut out Atalanta 0-0 in the Champions League to pick up a precious point in Bergamo.
- Kasper Schmeichel continued in goal, behind an unchanged back four of Alex Valle, Liam Scales, Auston Trusty and Alistair Johnston as Greg Taylor and Cameron Carter-Vickers continued to miss out through injury.
- Reo Hatate, who netted the opener against Aberdeen, accompanied Callum McGregor and Arne Engels in midfield. Daizen Maeda and Nicholas Kühn supported Adam Idah, as opposed to Kyogo Furuhashi, on Wednesday night.
