Team News

Ross County
Dundee FC
  • Ross County boss Don Cowie made five changes after the Staggies were smashed 6-0 by Rangers at Hampden, before a late goal was enough for Aberdeen to leave Dingwall with all three points prior to the international break.
  • Three of those changes came in County's back five, with James Brown taking Michee Efete's place at right wing-back. Ryan Leak and Kacper Lopata came in to replace Will Nightingale and Victor Loturi to join Akil Wright at the back.
  • Josh Nisbet took Jack Grieves' place to accompany Connor Randall and Aidan Denholm in midfield. Eamonn Brophy came in for Jordan White up front, to join Ronan Hale in attack.
  • Dundee manager Tony Docherty made two changes from the Dee leaving it late to nick a 2-2 draw against Hibernian at Easter Road, before they were held at home by St Mirren by the same scoreline prior to the international break.
  • Jon McCracken continued in goal behind an unchanged back four of Jordan McGhee, Antonio Portales, Billy Koumetio and Ziyad Larkeche.
  • Lyall Cameron and Mo Sylla were joined by Sammy Baybrooke in midfield, who replaced Luke McCowan as the skipper signed for Celtic.
  • Scott Tiffoney supported former Staggies striker Simon Murray and Curtis Main in attack, who took Seb Palmer-Houlden's place up front.

Prediction

  • Ross County are still in search of their first Scottish Premiership victory of their campaign, against a Dundee team who are unbeaten but have only won once in the league so far this season.
  • The Staggies' rotten recent record against Aberdeen continued, as they missed a penalty kick and fell to a last-gasp winner, spurning a glorious opportunity to claim their first three points of the Scottish Premiership season. It was nearly a perfect response - particularly defensively - from their joint-heaviest ever top-flight defeat, to Rangers, having also lost 6-0 to Celtic in October 2019.
  • This century, only in 2014/15 have Dundee enjoyed a longer unbeaten start (first six games) to a Scottish top-flight campaign than four matches without defeat to open this season. There's plenty of optimism at Dens Park as they look to repeat last season's top-six finish or go even better and secure European football. If they can turn these draws into wins, there's every chance.
  • Ross County failed to score a goal against Dundee in their three league meetings last season, as the Dee have won the last two and are hopeful they can record a third win on the spin against the Staggies.
