Team News

Tottenham
Arsenal
  • Richarlison misses out for Tottenham owing to an injury sustained in training but is Spurs' only confirmed absentee.
  • Dominic Solanke and Micky van de Ven should return to the starting XI, with the former set to make his home league debut on Sunday.
  • After a bright cameo against Newcastle, Brennan Johnson will hope to start against Arsenal.
  • Rodrigo Bentancur has been charged by the FA following comments this summer regarding captain Son Heung-Min and he has until September 19th to provide a response.
  • However, Bentancur may start in midfield in place of the injured Yves Bissouma.
  • Declan Rice is suspended for Arsenal after his red card against Brighton and he joins injured trio Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kieran Tierney and Mikel Merino on the sidelines.
  • Riccardo Calafiori should be fine to feature despite suffering a calf issue on international duty, while Gabriel Jesus is also expected to recover on time.
  • The huge blow for Arsenal, though, is the absence of skipper Martin Odegaard after he sustained a nasty ankle injury in Norway's 2-1 win over Austria.
  • Raheem Sterling is expected to make his debut in some capacity following his deadline day arrival from Chelsea.

Prediction

  • The marquee Premier League fixture from the weekend's action, Tottenham will hope to really get their season up and running here as they welcome rivals Arsenal to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
  • Spurs have picked up just four points from their opening three games, having drawn at Leicester and lost to Newcastle, despite dominating both matches. They don't have the best recent record against Arsenal having lost their last two home meetings with the Gunners.
  • Mikel Arteta's men dropped points at home against Brighton prior to the international break, and the draw with the Seagulls came at a cost with Declan Rice now suspended. With Mikel Merino and captain Martin Odegaard also absent through injury, Arsenal suddenly look light in the middle of the park.
  • That said, Arsenal remain a threat from set-pieces, one of Spurs' weaknesses, and this route to goal could help the Gunners get back to winning ways.

  • Away win by the odd goal

  • Arsenal were outshot by Aston Villa and Brighton in their last 2 matches.

  • Ange puts Son too far deep centrally; by that losing like 50% of his quality as if he was a 2nd forward or "advanced" winger.

  • Going for Spurs here, Maddison masterclass, clean sheet, Ange is the man.

  • 2-2

  • 3-2 LOL! Prediction sites always wrong.
