Team News

Canada
Australia
  • Vanessa Gilles and Kadeisha Buchanan both picked up yellow cards last match and could miss out on the next one if they pick up another.
  • Sam Kerr is still a doubt for this match having missed the last two with a calf injury. Mary Fowler and Aivi Luik were kept out last match due to minor concussions picked up in training and could be a doubt here.

Prediction

  • This could be one of the biggest matches in the group stage. Either Olympic champions Canada or hosts Australia could go out of the World Cup at this early stage depending on this match and results elsewhere. Nigeria seems to be the dark horse and caused both these teams issues. Canada came out better having only drawn against them but the loss of Australia is a huge blow. It will look somewhat embarrassing if the Matildas were to leave at this stage but they have been somewhat hampered with injuries. This match could go either way but the home crowd might just carry Australia through.

  • Huitema had a shot on target from out wide and Arnold had to catch it. If she lets it go, Canada score... Why has it not been classed as a shot on goal?

  • Foord had 2 shots, 1 keeper save and 1 blocked by defender. Why showing 1?
