Team News

Ross County
Hearts
  • Interim Ross County boss Don Cowie named four changes to the Staggies side that lost 2-0 to Hibernian at Easter Road, but bounced back to claim a last-gasp draw against the same opponents on Wednesday night in a 2-2 draw in Dingwall.
  • Former Jambo Connor Randall came into midfield, to partner Victor Loturi, against Hibernian in midweek. Josh Sims - who opened the scoring - and Brandon Khela started in the wide areas. James Brown, Eli King and Max Sheaf made way.
  • Simon Murray started alongside Eamonn Brophy against his former club, as Jordan White dropped onto the bench. Also sat amongst the substitutes was the fit again Yan Dhanda, who grabbed the Staggies' late leveller in their midweek match.
  • Hearts boss Steven Naismith made two changes after the Jambos returned to winning ways to beat Celtic 2-0 at Tynecastle, before progressing to the Scottish Cup semi-finals with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Morton in Greenock last Monday.
  • The Jambos changed to a back four, but with all four defenders having started the victory against the reigning champions. Calem Nieuwenhof dropped out of midfield, as compatriot Cammy Devlin joined Beni Baningime and Jorge Grant.
  • Alex Cochrane made way for the Monday night matchwinner - Kenneth Vargas - to start alongside Alan Forrest and the men in maroon's main marksman Lawrence Shankland in attack.

Prediction

  • Second bottom takes on the team in third, as Ross County host Hearts in the Highlands in one of five Scottish Premiership matches this Saturday.
  • The Staggies clinched a late leveller against the other half of Edinburgh in midweek, as they lead Hibs before rescuing a point in the dying embers of the match, in a four-goal thriller up in the Highlands. Hearts are next to come to Dingwall, with County hoping to go one better than the 2-2 draw against the Jambos at Tynecastle in December where they blew a two-goal lead in Gorgie.
  • The Jambos advanced into the Scottish Cup semi-finals, meaning that they've reached at least the semis in both major cup competitions for just the fifth time in their 150-year history, after a tough tie away to Championship side Morton in Greenock. After beating reigning champions Celtic in their last league match, that was the perfect remedy for two disappointing results beforehand.
  • Ross County went toe-to-toe at Tynecastle against Hearts back in December, but the Jambos won up north in September and will hope for a second success in Dingwall this season.
