- Stuart Kettlewell named two changes from Motherwell's 2-1 victory over Hibs courtesy of a last-gasp goal at Fir Park, before they were dumped out of the Scottish League Cup courtesy of a 1-0 loss to St Mirren in Paisley at the weekend.
- Shane Blaney joined Bevis Mugabi and Dan Casey in the Well's back three. The injured Pape Souare dropped out of the Steelmen's starting eleven as Paul McGinn moved to left wing-back. Davor Zdravkovski replaced Lennon Miller in midfield.
- Blair Spittal supported Theo Bair and Conor Wilkinson up front. Mika Biereth, who grabbed the winner against Hibs, has been ruled out for three months through injury and joins Jon Obika on the Well's treatment table.
- Derek McInnes named an unchanged Kilmarnock team after Killie claimed a point in the capital with a 0-0 stalemate at Tynecastle against Hearts, before knocking holders Celtic out of the Scottish League Cup with a 1-0 victory at Rugby Park.
- Killie's defence can easily transition from a partnership to a trio, Stuart Findlay and Robbie Deas at the heart of it with Lewis Mayo potentially joining them. However, Mayo and Corrie Ndaba have started as right and left back respectively recently.
- David Watson and Brad Lyons start centrally with Matty Kennedy and Danny Armstrong on the flanks. Kyle Magennis supports Marley Watkins with club captain Kyle Vassell also yet to fully return to Killie certainly have options.
