- Aberdeen boss Barry Robson named one change after the Dons claimed a superb 3-1 victory at Ibrox against Rangers, before they had to settle for a point against Finnish side HJK Helsinki in their Europa Conference League match in midweek.
- Richard Jensen, Slobodan Rubezic and Stefan Gartenmann continued as the centre backs with Nicky Devlin at right wing-back. Jack MacKenzie was chosen at left wing-back with James McGarry sidelined.
- Leighton Clarkson and Graeme Shinnie started in the middle of the park, as Jamie McGrath was sat slightly forward, in order to support Duk and midweek scorer Bojan Miovski in attack.
- St Johnstone boss Steven MacLean made four changes to the Saints side that lost 2-0 at Easter Road against Hibernian, before they were held at home by Livingston in a 1-1 draw last Saturday in Perth.
- Liam Gordon replaced Sam McLelland in the Saints back three, but was sent off against Livi so will miss the match against Aberdeen. Max Kucheriavyi replaced Cammy MacPherson to support the two St Johnstone strikers.
- Those chosen to lead the line were Luke Jephcott and Dara Costelloe, who fired them in front last Saturday, as Stevie May was sat among the substitutes and James Brown was omitted from the matchday squad.
