Team News

Deportivo Alaves
Valencia
  • Alaves came up short against Getafe last week, losing 1-0, they could possibly revert back to a 4-1-4-1 against Valencia like they did against Sevilla.
  • Samu Omorodion could feature again following his loan move from Atletico Madrid, he came off the bench last week with 15 minutes to go.
  • Alaves have been lucky to sustain little injuries since the beginning of the season, with forward Giuliano Simeone being the only player sidelined.
  • Valencia should make one change this week - Andre Almedia in for Javier Guerra as the latter forward was unable to make good on his start in the defeat to Osasuna.
  • 4-4-2 should be the desired formation, Ruben Baraja has not changed it once since the season began.

Prediction

  • Both teams come into this one off the back of disappointing losses - Alaves to Getafe; Valencia to Osasuna.
  • Last time Alaves were at home, they scored four goals and dispatched Sevilla, winning their first game of the season. They will be eager to extend their unbeaten run at home in game week four. Valencia however won away at Sevilla on the first day of the season and have had an impressive start to the season. At first glance, this one could be really tough for Alaves. What's more, the visitors are unbeaten in four games on the road.
  • However, the last time the two met in La Liga two seasons ago, Alaves won 2-1 at home. This one is hard to predict, but Valencia have a point to prove this season. It should be added, the visitors need to sign an attacker before the window closes after their move for Rafa Mir fell through.
