Team News

Leeds
Cardiff
  • Leeds remain short on numbers in the midfield department, so expect new signing Ethan Ampadu to play further up this weekend.
  • Daniel Farke will be without a host of first-team players this weekend, including the likes of Tyler Adams, Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford.
  • Joe Ralls, Rubin Colwill and Yakou Meite have all shaken off injuries and will be available to feature from the off on Sunday.
  • Erol Bulut will call upon Jak Alnwick with Ryan Allsop sidelined for the trip to Elland Road.
  • Mark McGuinness and Romaine Sawyers are also unavailable for the Turkish manager as he takes charge of Cardiff for the first time.

Prediction

  • Leeds' drastic recruitment gambles failed to pay off last season, as did the appointment of Sam Allardyce with just a handful of games remaining. The Whites are in a strong place to fight for an immediate return to the top flight given their quality, but Southampton and Leicester also come down with plenty of talent in their ranks.
  • Cardiff grabbed the headlines earlier this summer when they announced the signing of former Arsenal and Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey, but there are reasons to be concerned in South Wales. The Bluebirds avoided the drop by the skin of their teeth last season and remain light on quality at the back.

  • Farke plays a 4-2-3-1 not a 4-3-3. Chances are he'll play Gray and Ampadu as the 2 He'll also more than likely play Sinisteria wide left. And Shaks aint going to start either. Nice if some research was carried out

  • Leeds will be way too strong at home for Cardiff especially as they have kept most of their side relegated from the EPL.

  • @Marbella - They've lost Robles, Koch, Llorente, Wöber, Kristensen, Roca, Forshaw, Aaronson, Rodrigo. Yes, technically they've kept most of the side, but a lot of these players have been with them since when they were a mid-table Championship side.

  • Cardiff scored ONLY 13 away goals last season.
