Team News

Coventry
Middlesbrough
  • Mark Robins will keep his lineup almost unchanged from the opening day with the only expected change being a first league start for Haji Wright.
  • Central midfielder Jamie Allen joins Fabio Tavares and Callum O'Hare on the Coventry injury list.
  • Goalkeeper Ben Wilson was rested in the Carabao Cup in midweek and should return on Saturday.
  • Michael Carrick could make two changes to the side that faced Millwall last weekend with Jonny Howson and Samuel Silvera stepping into the starting XI.
  • Chuba Akpom was left out of the matchday squad in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night with Carrick hoping to have him fully rested to feature from the bench at the CBS Arena.

Prediction

  • Coventry produced plenty of chances against Midlands rivals Leicester last weekend, but couldn't build on the lead handed to them following Kyle McFadzean's goal. The Sky Blues went on to lose 2-1 following a Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall brace, before suffering another 2-1 defeat to AFC Wimbledon in midweek. Despite those defeats, the atmosphere remains positive in the Coventry camp.
  • Middlesbrough's opening-day fixture against Millwall was a frustrating encounter by every measure. The Teessiders enjoyed 68% of the possession and attempted 16 shots, but some sloppy play at the back cost Michael Carrick's men all three points when Romain Esse scored late on. The visitors did respond well on Tuesday night with a midweek Carabao Cup win against Huddersfield.
