Team News

Arsenal
Nottingham Forest
  • Arsenal are without Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko for the start of the season, but both are expected back within the next month or so.
  • Albert Sambi Lokonga, Reiss Nelson and Folarin Balogun are also expected to miss out, along with Jorginho who is a doubt.
  • Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and Kai Havertz all started at Wembley on Sunday and should do so again here.
  • Matt Turner could start against his former team just days after signing for Forest.
  • Steve Cooper's side had a poor pre season results wise, but after beating Arsenal in their final home game last season, they'll want to put on a similar performance to that one here.
  • They are without five players, including the scorer that day Taiwo Awoniyi, who are ruled out through their various injury concerns. Felipe could feature in defence but that would be a risk.

Prediction

  • Arsenal will be keen to build upon last season's second-placed finish and have made some key acquisitions in the summer window. Sunday's Community Shield win over Manchester City sets them up well for the start of the campaign.
  • Nottingham Forest beat the drop by four points and will look to avoid the dreaded second-season syndrome. Steve Cooper's side have lost their last two visits to Arsenal, losing both 5-0.
  • With home advantage, Arsenal should make light work of Forest on Saturday.

  • Arsenal need a prolific striker.

  • @Marbella Osi would complete this team

  • @KingKeno Yes surely! Very correct and i totally agree with this. Osimhen is the man they need to get.

  • I just realized Nottingham beat Assanal twice last season (at their home though) both 1-0 results, but got whooped at Arsenal's 5-0, well I see a repeat with the Gunners taking home the bacon but @2-0

  • Gunners will cruise, 4-0

  • I think we have plenty to brush Forest aside, and they aren't in great form. But they did frustrate us and beat us at the end of last season so nothing is set in stone.

  • Forest took just 1 point from 10 away games against top-half teams last season.

  • Arsenal 4-0

  • Arsenal 3-1

  • Forrest will help for the help from Arsenal last year. Only if they let it go by a significant margin or narrow one in 98 minute?

  • 2-2 early KO curse
