Team News

Swansea
Stoke
  • Jack Cork remains out with an ankle injury and Paul Clement may look to change formation in a bid to get Swansea out of their current funk.
  • Tom Carroll and Jordan Ayew were dropped to the bench for the last match but will be pushing for recalls here, as will Wayne Routledge.
  • Wayne Routledge has a hernia problem and will miss out here, which should see Luciano Narsingh keep his place in the team.
  • Mark Hughes may stick with the 3-4-2-1 formation used against Hull after ending a run of four straight league defeats.
  • Jack Butland was on the bench against Hull and could even make his Premier League return this weekend for the first time in over 12 months.
  • Jonathan Walters has a slight knee injury that has prevented him from training this week but Hughes expects the striker to recover in time for Saturday.
  • The Stoke manager is also hopeful that Glenn Whelan and Joe Allen will recover from their own injury problems in time to feature, but both will require late fitness tests.

Prediction

  • Swansea have lost five of their last six and haven't managed to score in four of those matches. They are back in the bottom three but only two points adrift of safety.
  • Stoke ended a run of four straight defeats with a 3-1 win over Hull to relieve some pressure on Mark Hughes.
  • The Potters are only one point adrift of the top half of the table and that will be the aim for the remainder of the season.
  • Swansea have a real chance to get a positive result here given Stoke's terrible recent away form.
  • Stoke haven't managed to score in any of their last five away games, in which they've only earned a point in that time. A change in formation could help turn that around for Hughes' side, but Swansea cannot afford to waste this opportunity.
