Only two Gunners representatives feature in Arsenal vs Chelsea Combined XI
It's FA Cup final weekend as Arsenal gear up to secure their 14th trophy at Chelsea's expense at Wembley. It's sure to be a hotly contested clash between these two heavyweights as they seek to end the domestic season with silverware.
Using our unique rating system, we look at a combined XI of the two finalists and... it's not pleasant reading for Arsenal fans.
Indeed, with the parameters that players must have made five or more Premier League starts in 2019/20, and excluding injured or suspended players, the Gunners only have two representatives in this combined XI and they come at both ends of the pitch.
Emiliano Martinez has been a revelation between the sticks having come in for Bernd Leno as the last line of defence in their 2-1 loss at Brighton last month and he has garnered a WhoScored rating of 7.02. The Argentine has the best save success rate in the Premier League this season (83.8%) and he'll be key for the Gunners at Wembley.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (7.03) rounds off the Arsenal duo and for good reason. The Gabon international has excelled for the north London side and finished the Premier League season with 22 league goals to his name to spearhead the charge in this team. Willian (7.31) and Christian Pulisic (7.18) flank Aubameyang on the frontline, with the former the highest rated player of the two teams.
In midfield, N'Golo Kante (6.90) may not have been at his best this season, but is still one of the best ball winners in the game on his day. Mateo Kovacic (6.94) joins Kante in midfield having mustered a better dribble success rate (85.6%) than any other player in the Premier League this season. Mason Mount (6.91) rounds off the midfield three having scored seven and provided three assists in the Premier League this term. Having won the WhoScored man of the match award in his last trip to Wembley, he'll hope for a repeat this weekend.
In defence, Reece James (6.90) has been impressive when called upon for the Blues this season and played a central role in their 3-1 semi-final win over Manchester United. So too did Marcos Alonso (7.30) who fills the left-back role in this combined XI.
At the heart of the defence, Cesar Azpilicueta (7.12) partners Kurt Zouma (6.91) to round off this side. While a right-back by trade, Azpilicueta has been a consistent force across the back four over the years and he'll be looking to captain Chelsea to silverware at Wembley.
